Sip the Summer: A Rosé Lover’s Guide to the Scenic Sip Wine Trail

August in the Okanagan is pure magic: long golden evenings, vineyard views in every direction, and that perfect pop of a cork (or twist of a screwcap) before pouring a chilled glass of pink perfection.

It’s BC Rosé Month, and the Scenic Sip Wine Trail in Lake Country, BC, is where you’ll find some of the province’s most exciting—and delicious—rosés. From refined sparkling bottles to bright and fruity picnic sippers, our wineries craft styles to suit every mood, menu, and moment.

Why Rosé in August?

Rosé isn’t just “a summer wine” or “a sweet wine”—and it’s definitely not a one-style-fits-all category. In BC, rosé ranges from bone dry to softly off-dry, with flavour profiles that span crisp citrus, delicate floral notes, and ripe, juicy berries.

It’s also one of the most food-versatile wines you can pour. Light, zesty styles shine with salads, seafood, and fresh summer produce. Fuller-bodied rosés stand up beautifully to grilled meats, rich pasta, and bold flavours. And sparkling rosé? That’s your celebration-in-a-glass, whether you’re toasting a milestone or just making Tuesday a little more exciting.

The Rosés of the Scenic Sip – 2025 Edition

An aromatic showstopper with vibrant aromas of candied guava, ripe cantaloupe, and playful hints of strawberry bubblegum and candy floss. The palate bursts with fresh-cut strawberry and juicy pomelo, supported by a subtle minerality that adds elegance and keeps the finish clean and crisp.

Pair it with: spicy tuna rolls, grilled peach salad, or Mediterranean mezze.

Why it’s unique: A fruit-forward rosé with a silky texture and mineral finesse, showcasing Columbia Basin grapes.

A lively burst of “frutti tutti fresh and fruity” goodness in every sip. The nose is packed with juicy aromas of ripe raspberries and strawberries, lifted by playful notes of fruit punch and a soft cotton candy twist. On the palate, flavours of red gummy candy and fresh summer berries swirl together for a soft, rounded mouthfeel. The finish is refreshing and dry, making it as food-friendly as it is crushable.

Pair it with: roasted rhubarb salad with goat cheese, tuna Niçoise salad, tapas, chicken souvlaki, or bocconcini-stuffed meatballs.

Why it’s unique: A vibrant, candy-kissed rosé that balances fun fruitiness with a dry finish.

A savoury-meets-fruity rosé that opens with aromas of cranberry, rhubarb, underripe strawberry, and a pop of tangerine zest. As it unfolds, delicate herbal notes and candied fennel mingle with a salty ocean-breeze freshness. The palate is bright and lively, leaning slightly more savoury than sweet, with layers of white peach and grapefruit. A touch of weight on the mid-palate leads into a crisp, lingering dry finish.

Pair it with: cedar-plank salmon, burrata with caponata, rare seared Ahi tuna, charcuterie, or tapas.

Why it’s unique: Complex aromatics and a savoury edge give this rosé a refined, food-driven personality.

A sophisticated sparkling with a coppery-pink hue and fine, delicate bubbles. Aromas of ripe strawberries, sweet pear, and pink grapefruit are lifted by a whisper of freshly baked brioche. On the palate, a creamy mousse carries bright notes of cranberry, red currant, and citrus rind, with a touch of pastry lingering on the finish.

Pair it with: smoked salmon, oysters, or creamy soft cheeses.

Why it’s unique: A refined traditional-method sparkler with elegant fruit and a touch of bakery charm.

A crisp, slightly off-dry blend of Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Gamay that’s built for patio season. Fresh aromas of citrus zest, ripe melon, peach, and grapefruit leap from the glass. The palate is bright and juicy, with subtle sweetness balanced by refreshing acidity.

Pair it with: grilled prawns, caprese salad, or lemon-herb chicken.

Why it’s unique: A sunshine-in-a-glass blend that’s equally refreshing on its own or with food.

A vivid pink rosé with inviting aromas of white chocolate, strawberry, cherry, watermelon, and chamomile blossom. The palate is juicy yet balanced, with ripe berry flavours, a touch of floral lift, and a tart, refreshing acidity. A lingering soft finish keeps you coming back for more.

Pair it with: prosciutto and melon, grilled chicken, or berry tarts.

Why it’s unique: Crafted in partnership with Oregon growers for a cross-border expression of Pinot Noir rosé.

Electric pink in the glass, with classic aromas of strawberry, red cherry, cranberry, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is dry and vibrant, delivering bright cherry and watermelon before finishing with a delicate almond pastry note.

Pair it with: roast turkey, goat cheese crostini, or fruit pavlova.

Why it’s unique: A bold, celebration-sized magnum for sharing special moments.

A Provence-inspired rosé made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Aromas of cranberry and raspberry lead into a palate that is crisp, refreshing, and perfectly dry. It’s been Blind Tiger’s top-selling wine for three years running, loved for its balance and drinkability.

Pair it with: patio afternoons, seafood, or fresh tomato bruschetta.

Why it’s unique: Organic grapes and a timeless French style that locals can’t get enough of.

A lively sparkling blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gewürztraminer, done in the Prosecco style. Bursting with flavours of raspberry, cherry, and apricot, it’s fun, fresh, and endlessly drinkable.

Pair it with: brunch, sushi, or creamy pasta.

Why it’s unique: A celebration in a bottle that works for any day of the week.

Off-dry and fruit-driven, this rosé blends aromatic whites with a touch of Pinot Noir. Aromas of citrus zest and red berries lead into a smooth palate with lemony brightness on the finish.

Pair it with: picnic charcuterie, shrimp tacos, or watermelon salad.

Why it’s unique: Crafted to be the ultimate “social” wine—versatile, approachable, and crowd-pleasing.

This frizzante-style pink is all strawberry lemonade fun in a glass. Aromas of ripe berries and a hint of tropical fruit carry through to a lively, fruit-filled palate. Refreshing bubbles make it a perfect party wine.

Pair it with: coconut shrimp, smoked salmon eggs benedict, or wedding cake.

Why it’s unique: A romantic sparkling rosé that’s just as perfect for brunch as it is for a toast.

A striking blend of 60% Zweigelt and 40% Baco Noir, this rosé shows vibrant colour and expressive aromas of strawberry, cranberry, citrus, and delicate floral notes, with a subtle spiciness in the background. On the palate, it’s soft and refreshing, finishing with a lingering red cherry note.

Pair it with: grilled vegetables, charcuterie, or fresh summer salads.

Why it’s unique: A bold, aromatic style that shows the character of estate-grown red varietals—gone for now, but worth remembering.
