The Latest National Wine Align Awards

The National Wine Align Awards were recently announced, and we are proud to share the results!

*Keep in mind that not all of our wineries choose to enter these competitions, and the number of bottles a winery will submit can vary greatly.

How it works...

Wineries across Canada submit anything from one bottle to twenty bottles of their current releases. The wines are shipped to either Ontario or British Columbia depending on the year's location. This year, a panel of 24 judges judged the wines in Ontario. The judging team is made up of wine experts from Canada and abroad to make the competition as fair and accurate as possible. This year the panel tasted 1,890 entries from more than 250 wineries. The wines are served blind but organized into flights by grape variety or style. The top medalists were tasted in multiple rounds by many different judges. And finally, the awards are announced to the public!

We recommend purchasing quickly as these wines tend to sell out fast! Click on any of the wines mentioned below to buy or visit the wineries tasting room; you'll find even more gems behind the tasting bar!

And here are the results from the Scenic Sip wineries that entered wines!

2022 Platinum Award - WineAlign Canada

Congratulations to the team from 50th Parallel Estate Winery; they are one of only 24 wineries across Canada to receive a Platinum Award for their 2020 Chardonnay. If you are a Chardonnay fan, we recommend moving quickly to purchase your bottles, as this wine will sell out fast!

2022 Gold Awards - - WineAlign Canada

Gray Monk Estate Winery took home a Gold for the 2019 Odyssey Meritage, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. A blend of Merlot / Cabernet Sauvignon / Cabernet Franc / Petit Verdot / Malbec, this wine is a perfect match for the summer BBQ season! In the Pinot Gris category, their 2021 Odyssey Pinot Gris was also awarded a Gold medal.

Arrowleaf Cellars 2020 Chardonnay was awarded the Gold medal. Again, another great Chardonnay, and at $25.10, this wine is an absolute steal!

The 2020 Social Red from Intrigue Wines also brought home a Gold. A lighter-bodied red blend, this wine is also exceptional value at $20 a bottle.
